Don't do it unless you have to - driving in London is insane, slow and costly (congestion charges in central London and high parking fees)

If you need to park, there is a pay and display area behind the town hall (go right onto Three Colt Street after the church, and weave your way to the back of the hall), but there are no parking wardens on weekends.

Stansted (STN)

Take the train Stansted Express to Liverpool Street station (45 mins) (27GBP return)

  • Take the tube - circle line 2 stops to tower hill (clockwise)
  • Change to the DLR (docklands light railway) Tower Gateway station-
  • 2 Stops to Limehouse Station
  • Change to the DLR (docklands light railway) Tower Gateway station-
  • 2 Stops to Limehouse Station

Gatwick (LGW)

  • Take the train to London Bridge Station (not the gatwick express which goes to Victoria)
  • Change to the tube - northern line 1 stop to Bank
  • Change to the DLR (docklands light railway) Bank Station
  • 2 Stops to Limehouse Station

Note: ASLEF are planning a strike that will close paddington station on Oct 3rd, 11th and 19th so if you are travelling on any of those days please go to heathrow by tube instead of the Heathrow Express and allow extra journey time

Either

  • Take the tube (4.60 GBP) (45 mins) - Picadily line to South Kensington
  • Change to the circle line - 10 stops to Tower Hill (anti-clockwise)

Or

  • Take the Heathrow Express Train (15 GBP one way) (15 Mins) to Paddington
  • Change to the tube circle time - 10 stops to Tower Hill (clockwise)

Then

  • Change to the DLR (docklands light railway) Tower Gateway station-
  • 2 Stops to Limehouse Station

London City (LCY)

  • Take the shuttle bus to Canning Town DLR/Tube station
  • Change to DLR - 5 stops west to Limehouse

Luton (LTN)

  • Take the thameslink Luton Express train to Kings Cross (35 mins)

  • Change to the tube circle line - 5 stops to Tower Hill (clockwise)
  • Change to the DLR (docklands light railway) Tower Gateway station
  • 2 Stops to Limehouse Station

The Walk From Limehouse DLR Station

Walk under the bridge to the main road and turn right (same direction as the train you were on)

With the station to your right continue, you'll see a modern red brick church also on the right, lots of inspiring modern property developments, deeply expressive embodiment of economic aspiration for local residents, then an ex-library with a statue of Clement Attlee in front of it, then you'll see Limehouse Town Hall with St Anne's (Hawksmoor) church behind it.

Go up the steps to the front door and ring 'The Boxing Club' bell to the left.
