Daniel, OKFN Chapter: Germany
- Chapter in transition mode right now, from 2011 focussing on outreach, policy and events to focussing more on project development in 2012. We have been approached to do several projects on open data with big IT companies. We want to develope self-sustained projects with own budget but are sceptical to partner up with the big companies. So we might stick growing slow and develop projects and communiteies step by step rather than selling our soul to the *evel side*. OKF DE is satarting to do regular local meetups every second Tuesday of the month]
Kat, OKFN Global
- brief updates re legal difference between OKFN groups versus chapters; welcome to new groups getting started in Greece, Australia, Netherlands, India!

- we would like to do in the near future is to revamp http://it.ckan.net/ upgrading to newer CKAN version and importing more data. We are waiting for David Read to upgrade it for us.
we we are involved in organization of the contest appsforitaly, this week we have another update with the other people involved and later i can inform more about some questions like celebration day, evaluation committee ... and other ... for now we have 40.000 euro. Most of the money comes from the precedent italian government, and, in this transiction period from Berlusconi to Monti, we are waiting for new information. http://www.opendatajournalism.it. also, the new italian goverment is searching for 6 experts in open government, smart cities and open data. The people must be under40 and with a phd in Italy we started with a data journalism mailing list for italian people http://groups.google.com/group/datajournalismitaly?pli=1
