Some projects and activities involve the keeping of budgets to record expenditure and receipt of resources -- especially money.
In particular, projects or activities that receive or spend funds will be expected to prepare and maintain a budget.
Budgets are focused on planning and are forward looking -- what actually occurs will usually be documented in the Foundation's central accounting system (though projects may wish to do basic reconciliation against actual receipts and expenditure themselves).
Budget System
- Use spreadsheet system -- usually google docs
- Template Spreadsheet (Gdocs)
- Make a copy of this spreadhsheet for your specific project
- Update it
- Notify a Foundation Coordinator about the existence of this spreadsheet (and ensure they have access to it)
