Community Roles/Community Coordinator

The Community Coordinator will be responsible for expanding and diversifying the Foundation's network, for helping to bring the Foundation's activities to a wider audience, and for identifying new potential collaborations, projects and activities with external partners. He or she will be one of several people at the Open Knowledge Foundation who work in this area.
- Engages with people who may be interested in the Foundation's work or its broader mission. This includes (but is not limited to): developers, designers, legal experts, researchers, journalists, companies and NGOs.
- Evangelises about the Foundation's projects, activities and mission at events and in relevant online communities
- Identifies potential funded projects, and communicating with potential funders and sponsors
- Builds relationships with key stakeholders in academia, the public sector, the private sector, and the media and introduces external parties to people they may be able to collaborate with at the Foundation or in its network
- Coordinates the Foundation's overall comms, publicity and events strategies, including liaising with the press, producing updates for social media, soliciting for guest blog posts, running competitions and events, creating films and promotional material etc.
- Liaising with others both at the Foundation and externally to provide oversight and guidance to the Foundation's projects and working groups.
