Community Roles/Community Ambassador
From Open Knowledge Foundation
OKFN may identify people as representative to and for the community regarding a Working Group or Interest Group.
Community Ambassadors will engage with external communities as a representative of the Foundation.
Where there is no-one better able to do so:
Community Ambassadors should:
- represent OKF's good name and ideas
- explain OKF's position as they understand it
- offer opinions on matters relating to their area at conventions
- work to get people involved with OKF, their group
- suggest contacts at OKF and in working groups
- suggest joining projects and joining mailing lists
Community Ambassadors should not:
- commit to OKF involvement, resources or (especially) finances.
- claim to be able to change or set policy without discussion
- procure excessive quantities of Ferrero Rocher
