Purpose

1. Act as a central point of reference and support for people who are interested in open climate data and software.
2. Maintaining a registry of climate data sets such as descriptions, urls and licensing information.
3. Encouraging best practices regarding licensing and publication of climate data.
4. Act as a hub for the development of low cost, community driven projects around open climate data.
